October 9-12, 2014: I’ll be co-hosting the IndieCade Awards with Frank Lantz, speaking on panels about “Can we Play w the Past? Games, Narrative and Historical Context” and “Game Educations, Game Futures” as well as showing Walden, a game as part of the Digital Selects.

September 29, 2014: I’ll be speaking on “Dream Worlds: Imagining the Worlds of Walden and The Night Journey” at CMU’s Human-Computer Interaction Institute’s 2014 Z-Axis Seminar.

September 18-20, 2014: I’ll be speaking on “The Dynamics of Creative Culture in the Digital Age” at the National Arts Policy Roundtable, Sundance Institute.

August 3-5, 2014: I’ll be keynoting at DiGRA in Utah.

July 29-August 1, 2014: I’ll be judging the Microsoft Imagine Cup in Seattle.

July 21-24, 2014: I’ll be hosting the Serious Play Conference at USC Games and speaking with Ben Stokes on Reality as part of the “Critical Conversations” panels.

July 13, 2014: I’ll be judging the Girls Make Games competition with Tim Schafer and Kellee Santiago.

May 20, 2014: I’ll be speaking and hosting a workshop at the NASPL Lottery conference in Cleveland.

May 1, 2014: LA Games Conference. I’ll be moderating a panel of USC alumni talking about “Playing It Smart: From Classroom to Consoles with Game Design Graduates”.

April 22-24, 2014: Games for Change. I’ll be doing a “Well Played” session on Gone Home and speaking on a panel “Impact from Games? Pick the right field first!”

April 12, 2014: LA Times Festival of Books. I’ll be speaking on a panel called “The Future of Reading: New Technologies in Playing and Learning” with Samantha Gorman, Henry Jenkins, Gisele Ragusa and William Tierney. Full line-up of panels for the festival here.

April 10, 2014: Rochester Institute of Technology. I’ll be speaking on “I Went to the Woods: Experiments in Gameplay and Narrative” at RIT’s Digital Humanities Distinguished Speaker Series.

March 18, 2014: Game Developers Conference. I’ll be speaking at the Narrative Summit on Breaking the Mold: Experiments in Evolving Game Narrative from the USC Game Innovation Lab. I’m also on the advisory committee for the Game Education Summit.

February 22, 2014: Education Writers Association. I’ll be speaking at an event for the Education Writers Association, STEM and Beyond: Strengthening the Skills of Students and Journalists. The panel I’m on is “Games and Learning: Scoring Points for Art and Science” with Greg Toppo from USA Today.

January 28, 2014: Playthink@USC. I’ll be speaking on the classic game Myst at this USC game salon.
