August 16, 2017: I’ll be doing an “INconversation” at Gen Con — so cool, it will be my first time there!
August 14-15, 2017: I’ll be attending Foundations of Digital Games in Cape Cod, Massachusetts and speaking on two panels. One is “Game Design & Development Curriculum: History and Future Directions” and the other is on “Playing with History: Creating Games Around Historical Themes & Content”. Excited for both of these!
August 31, 2017: I’ll be giving a Civics and Social Issues Keynote at Games for Change on “Games of Life: Exploring the Arts and Humanities Through Play”. I’ll also be responding to Richard Lemarchand’s Well Played session on Walden, a game.
July 29, 2017: Walden, a game will be featured at NYPlayarcade at the NY Public Library.

May 31, 2017: i’ll be giving a Keynote at the Canadian Society for Digital Humanities, part of Congress 2017 of the Humanities and Social Sciences. The talk is on “Finer Fruits: A Game as Participatory Text”.
May 18, 2017: Walden, a game will be part of the Earthgames “On Tap”: Videogames to Shape our Future” event in Seattle, WA. UPDATE: We won the second place judges award for a “Potential To Have Environmental Impact”. So cool!
April 29, 2018: I’ll be speaking at the Tribeca Games Festival on environmental awareness in games.

April 10-13, 2017: I’ll be attending the Abu Dhabi Culture Summit where I’ll be speaking at the “Innovators Roundtable: Visions for a Different Tomorrow”.

February 27-March 3, 2017: I’ll be attending the Game Developers Conference this week and for the first time in almost 20 years, I won’t be speaking, hooray! Taking the conference in as an attendee will be so much fun! I will be hosting the annual USC Games alumni dinner, though, so be sure to RSVP if you’re going.
February 24, 2017: Walden, a game was featured on the front page of the New York Times today!
February 8, 2017: I’ll be presenting at ICE Totally Gaming in London, a conference for the casino gaming. Not my usual venue, but I’ll be doing a panel and a hands-on workshop for innovative design.
January 16-21, 2017: I’ll be exhibiting Walden, a game at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland! In addition to showing the game at this meeting of world leaders, I will also be presenting a talk in the BetaZone forum there on Walden, called “Alternate Futures. And, I’ll be speaking on on a panel “What is it to be human in the Fourth Industrial Revolution”. I’ll also be part of a dinner discussion on “The Power of Play”.
